HENRICO, Va. (AP) -- A Mechanicsville man faces new charges stemming from a wreck during a chase that killed two sisters.

Henrico County prosecutors tell media outlets that 23-year-old Andrew T. Walters is charged with felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and felony hit and run. An arraignment is scheduled Thursday in Henrico County Circuit Court.

Walker initially was charged with felony eluding, second-offense driving on a suspended license and providing false information to a police officer.

Police say Walker fled after an officer tried to stop a vehicle he was driving on Feb. 3. The vehicle then went into the Chickahominy River.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jessica Gallmeyer and her sister, 15-year-old Amanda Brooke Irby, were passengers in the vehicle. They died several days after the accident.
