RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Rita McClenny is continuing her work as head of the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
The agency said Monday that McClenny was recently reappointed to the position by Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
McClenny has served as president and CEO of agency since 2012. She leads a team responsible for marketing the state as a tourism destination and promoting the film and television industry.
Officials say tourism and film are instant revenue generators for Virginia.
Tourism generated $21.2 billion in revenue in 2012 and supported 210,000 jobs, as well as $1.36 billion in state and local taxes.
The film industry generated $394.4 million in revenue industry in Virginia in 2011, supported more than 3,815 jobs and provided $59.9 million in state and local taxes.
