RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A coalition of Virginia environmental groups is planning a statewide campaign calling for a reduction in carbon pollution.
The campaign, Virginia Acts on Climate, will run through June. It will include community events and other activities that showcase how local governments, businesses and residents are working to reduce carbon pollution.
Kate Addleson with the Sierra Club's Virginia chapter says state leaders can learn from these efforts. She says in a news release that protecting the environment benefits both the economy and the health of communities.
