WASHINGTON -- While it seems like the region has seen a lot of snow, this year's white stuff hasn't come close historically to the top five snowfalls the region has seen.
Here's a look at the highest season snowfall at the region's three major airports -- Ronald Reagan Washington National, Dulles International and Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall. The snow is measured on a yearly basis from July to June.
As of Feb. 18 at DCA, 15.5 inches of snow has been recorded. The average at DCA from 1971 to 2000 has been 15.2 inches.
IAD has seen 31.6 inches of snow, as of Feb. 18. The average at IAD from 1971 to 2000 has been 21.2 inches.
This year at BWI, as of Feb. 18, there has been 25.3 inches of snow. BWI averaged 18.2 inches of snow from 1971 to 2000.
