STAUNTON, Va. -- Private and public memorials have been scheduled for a reserve Virginia police officer who was found dead this month.
Waynesboro police say a private service will be held on Sunday in Staunton (STAN'-tuhn) for 45-year-old Kevin Quick. A public memorial will be conducted Monday in Charlottesville at the John Paul Jones Arena. Quick was an avid fan of University of Virginia sports.
Quick's body was found a few miles northwest of Richmond one week ago. Six days earlier, he failed to show up to visit his girlfriend and their 4-month-old daughter.
Police investigators have not released the cause of Quick's death.
Four people face felony gang participation charges in the case. Two others have been charged with stealing Quick's sport utility vehicle.
Police say they expect to file more charges.
