RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Terry McAuliffe is set to take the oath of office as Virginia's 72nd governor.
Just hours before taking the oath of office, the governor-elect pledged that his administration will focus on helping people, including the unemployed, the uninsured and the hungry.
McAuliffe's remarks came after several religious leaders led prayers in support of McAuliffe while asking him to remember the state's poor and forgotten.
The inaugural prayer breakfast was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond.
