RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Gov. Bob McDonnell gives his final State of the Commonwealth speech on the 2014 General Assembly's opening day.
The speech is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday. The assembly convenes at noon.
McDonnell spokesman Tucker Martin says the speech will run about 50 minutes and will mostly be a recap of the strides Virginia has made during the governor's four-year term.
The Republican's term officially ends Saturday with the inauguration of Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
