WYTHEVILLE, Va. (AP) -- A missing Virginia man's employer has doubled a reward in an effort to generate new tips.

According to the Virginia State Police, 42- year-old Eric G. Smith of Cedar Bluff was last seen Nov. 8 as he headed into the woods on his property to hunt. Since then, police and volunteers have unsuccessfully searched more than 800 acres by air and on the ground.

CONSOL Energy has matched the $8,000 raised by family members to bring the reward to $16,000 for information leading to Smith's location.

State police say anyone with information can call them at 276-228-3131 or 1-800-542-8716, or call the Cedar Bluff Police Department at 276-963-3975.
