SPRINGFIELD, Va. (AP) -- Virginia's Medical Examiner is working to confirm the identities of two people who died in a fiery crash on Interstate 95 near the Springfield interchange.
State police say a car was heading northbound in the I-95 express lanes on Saturday night when it ran off the side of the road and slammed into the back of an unoccupied construction vehicle. The car burst into flames and was destroyed by fire, and two people inside were killed.
Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
