LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Liberty University has promoted a veteran professor to dean of the School of Religion.
The university said Wednesday that Ed Hindson will succeed Elmer Towns. Hindson has worked at Liberty for more than 20 years, including the past 14 years as a distinguished professor of religion.
For the past 13 years, Hindson has been the featured speaker on "The King is Coming," an international television program. He has written 40 books and edited five study Bibles.
Ron Godwin, the university's provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, said Hindson also is a much-in-demand speaker in churches across the country and is one of Liberty's "most perennially popular professors."
