RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Lumber Liquidators says its third-quarter net income rose 58 percent as the hardwood flooring retailer's sales rose and some of its costs fell.
The company, which is based in Virginia, also raised its outlook for the year Wednesday. Shares are up nearly 4 percent in premarket trading.
Lumber Liquidators says earnings were $20.4 million, or 73 cents per share, for the period ended September 30. That's up from $12.9 million, or 46 cents per share, in the same months a year ago. Revenue rose 25 percent to $254.3 million, as sales in established stores climbed 17 percent.
Analysts expected earnings of 67 cents per share on $241.6 million in revenue, according to FactSet.
Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc. has about 305 stores in North America.
