3 killed, 2 injured in Craig County wreck

NEW CASTLE, Va. (AP) -- Three people are dead and two are in the hospital after a vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree in Craig County.

Virginia State Police say the accident occurred late Sunday on Virginia 311. The driver of a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo lost control as she attempted to pass another vehicle that was making a left turn.

State police say the Rodeo's driver, 18-year-old Megan Anne Bradley of New Castle, died at the scene. A passenger, 22-year-old Carleigh Megan Taylor of New Castle, also died at the scene. Another passenger, 19-year-old Tia Jordan Gardner of New Castle, died a short time later at a Roanoke hospital.

Two other passengers in the Rodeo were injured and taken the hospital

The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers weren't injured.
