LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Lynchburg Regional Airport's passenger traffic in August declined 5.2 percent from the same period in 2012.
But airport director Mark Courtney says revenues remain strong. He tells The News & Advance (http://bit.ly/1dTLkZm ) that a majority of the travelers in August were business passengers, who paid higher fares.
Traffic in August totaled 13,121 passengers, down 14,055 from August 2012. But traffic increased from 12,536 in July.
Courtney says year-to-date totals are about 1 percent below 2012's numbers.
