CHESTER, Va. (AP) -- Construction of a replica Colonial church and meeting hall at a living-history park in Chester is expected to begin in early October.
The $759,000 structure will be built near the front of Henricus Historical Park. It's expected to be completed in 2014.
Park executive director Charlie Grant tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/15LiUAU ) that the church and meeting hall was a key structure in the early settlement at Henricus.
He says private foundations are donating nearly $300,000 for the project.
The building is expected to generate revenue by hosting events such as weddings and lectures.
