RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Defensive end Kerry Wynn and the Richmond Spiders are on a mission to regain respect.

Richmond shared the Colonial Athletic Association championship last season with New Hampshire, but when their anticipated NCAA tournament bid never came, Wynn remembers feeling "torn to pieces."

The Spiders were picked to finish last, but secured a share of the title with a victory against William & Mary in the regular season finale. Richmond had been winless in league play the previous year, and new coach Danny Rocco was their fourth head coach in as many seasons.

Wide receiver Ben Edwards says the Spiders have talked about the slight "every day." Richmond is picked to finish fourth in the league this year, but has loftier goals -- including contending for the national title.
