RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The town of Strasburg will receive a $405,000 grant to help repair damage caused last fall by Hurricane Sandy.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the Community Development Block Grant on Monday. It's federal money awarded by the state through a competitive process.
Strasburg's Ash Street was hit hard by the Oct. 26 storm. McDonnell says the grant will help the town reconstruct and improve the storm drainage system, minimizing the chances of damage during future severe storms. The money also will be used for roadway and water sewer line improvements.
