WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a worker who fell about 100 feet from a cell tower in Waynesboro.
Waynesboro police Sgt. Brian Edwards says the victim was a 37-year-old man. His name hasn't been released.
Edwards tells media outlets that the accident occurred Wednesday behind the main plaza at nTelos' headquarters. He says the victim was a contractor who worked for Summit Tower Construction in Staunton.
Virginia Department of Labor and Industry spokeswoman Sharon Sykes says the agency will investigate the accident.
nTelos spokesman Mike Minnis says the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
