NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- The USS Ramage is leaving Virginia on an eight-month deployment.
The guided-missile destroyer is scheduled to leave Naval Station Norfolk on Wednesday.
The Navy says the ship will depart to the Navy's 6th Fleet area of responsibility, which includes the Mediterranean Sea and other European waters.
During a 2010 deployment, the Ramage was sent to the Mediterranean Sea to assist with the search-and-rescue effort in the wake of the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 409.
