RICHMOND, Va. -- New Richmond baseball coach Tracy Woodson says he's coming home to win.

The Richmond native and former major leaguer player was introduced as the Spiders' coach on Tuesday.

Woodson has spent the last seven seasons at Valparaiso and led the Crusaders to their first two NCAA tournament appearances since 1968. He says Richmond's record of eight NCAA tournament berths gives the Spiders a deeper history, and one that he expects to add to going forward.

Woodson says "w0e're going to win here" and that his expectations are set very high.

The Spiders haven't made it to an NCAA tournament since 2003 and were just 156-161-4 in the past six seasons under Mark McQueen.

McQueen resigned following this season after being suspended for an altercation with a player.
