Spotsylvania man stabbed to death; 2 charged

WASHINGTON – A man was stabbed to death in Spotsylvania on Sunday night, and his stepson and the stepson’s girlfriend are charged with his death.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office says in a statement that they were called to the house of Robert Jones Jr., in the 100 block of Wakeview Drive, Spotsylvania, at about 10:30 and found him suffering from several stab wounds. He died later at Mary Washington Hospital.

After examining the house and speaking to neighbors, detectives arrested Jones’s stepson, David Sealock Jr., 23, and Michelle Leigh Soderberg, 28, both of Spotsylvania, at a motel room in Stafford County. They’ve been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The sheriff’s office says that the motive was “anger and revenge” after Sealock was kicked out of the house recently by Jones and Sealock’s mother. They add that a small child was in the house at the time but was not harmed. The child and the mother were removed from the house.
