ROANOKE, Va. -- There's still more than two weeks left in July, and already Roanoke has seen the most rain ever for the month.
The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/178iBMx) says more than 10.3 inches of rain has fallen in the city so far this month, breaking the record of 10.09 inches set in July 1989.
The National Weather Service says nearly 3.4 inches of rain was reported in about an hour Wednesday at Roanoke Regional Airport. The nearly 3.9 inches of rain that fell Wednesday was the city's rainiest for one day in July. The previous mark was set in 1940.
