VERONA, Va. (AP) -- Augusta County's voting precincts are getting a visit from the Justice Department.
County attorney Pat Morgan says an attorney and an architect with the department's civil rights division are expected to tour all 26 voting precincts on Monday and Tuesday.
Morgan tells The News-Virginian (http://bit.ly/19KAR3O) that the officials also plan to meet with the county's electoral board on Monday.
A complaint filed with the Justice Department by Steve Morris of Churchville alleges that a precinct located at the Churchville Fire Station isn't handicapped accessible. The complaint also alleges that the precinct is in the wrong location.
Augusta County Electoral Board Chairwoman Ruth Talmage says the handicap access and location are both appropriate.
