SALTVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Federal wildlife officials are coming to Saltville to rid the town of about 400 bothersome Canada geese.
Officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services are scheduled to round up the geese on Wednesday.
Town Manager Mike Taylor tells the Bristol Herald Courier (http://bit.ly/19tWRfN ) that the geese are beautiful but they can be annoying. He says they've damaged the Saltville Golf Course and made a mess with their droppings.
Saltville also has more than 200 feral ducks. Taylor says many of the ducks also will be collected during the roundup.
The geese will be donated to nonprofit organizations, zoos or wildlife rehabilitation facilities for animal consumption.
