Men attempt to rob pair on walk in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON – A woman was assaulted during an attempted robbery that occurred while she and a companion were walking in Fairfax County Wednesday night.

Police say the 23-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were walking in the 3300 block of Southgate Drive around 10 p.m. when they were approached by four men.

One suspect grabbed the male victim, another suspect pulled out a gun and the other two suspects grabbed the female victim.

The suspects assaulted the woman and demanded her belongings. They left after she began screaming.

The suspects are described as black, between the ages of 16 to 20 and wearing masks. One wore a gray polo shirt with khaki shorts and had long dreadlocks pulled up in the back. Another suspect, who reportedly held the gun, was very thin and wore a black tank top and jean shorts.
