NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Norfolk health officials say high bacteria levels in the water have forced a section of Ocean View beach to be closed.
The Norfolk Department of Public Health issued a swimming advisory Tuesday for an area of beach front along Bay Street. Tests found bacteria levels that exceeded state water quality standards.
Health officials will continue testing the beach waters. Posted signs will be removed when the bacteria levels return to levels that meet the state standards.
