RICHMOND, Va. -- Former Democratic Party of Virginia Chairman and legislator Brian Moran is teaming with Republican former Del. Chris Saxman and veteran lobbyist Rob Jones to form a new lobbying and business consulting company.
The three announced the founding of New South Strategic Partners on Wednesday.
The 53- year-old Moran ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination four years ago and represented Alexandria in the House of Delegates for 12 years. He was recently an executive with a national advocacy organization for private, for-profit career schools and colleges.
Saxman, a Staunton businessman, represented Augusta County in the House for eight years before leaving in 2009. He's 47.
Jones was a senior official in Democratic Gov. Gerald Baliles' administration, then worked for a Richmond lobbying firm before founding his own, the Alliance Group.
