ACCOMAC, Va. -- Court records show a man who has been charged with arson on the Eastern Shore of Virginia told authorities his fiancee set 15 fires.
Charles R. Smith III and Tonya Bundick are charged with arson and conspiracy to commit arson for setting an unoccupied Melfa home on fire. Virginia State Police have said the duo is responsible for most of the 77 arsons set on the Eastern Shore in the past five months. Police say additional charges are expected.
The Virginian-Pilot reports (http://bit.ly/10Mlu1N ) a search warrant released Wednesday says Smith told authorities Bundick set 15 abandoned structures on fire. Smith said the couple used a white Dodge Avenger that belonged to Bundick when setting fires.
On Tuesday, police confiscated clothing and papers from Bundick's vehicle.
