Fairfax police shoot, wound man

WASHINGTON – Officials say that when police arrived on the scene, the suspect “displayed what appeared to be a weapon in a threatening manner.”

An investigation is ongoing.

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police shot and injured a man in the Kingstowne area during a call for a report of a suicidal man Tuesday afternoon.

The 37-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

At least one officer performed CPR on the man. No officers were hurt.

The shooting happened on Thurlton Drive around 4 p.m., police say.

Police responded to a call about a suicidal person. Officers were involved in a confrontation with the man when he was shot.
