WASHINGTON – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is beefing up police presence after a person shot at two siblings in the Broadlands area.

An 11-year-old boy was walking near Heritage Oak Court and Ridgeway Drive around 4 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a BB gun pellet. The boy has minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. He told his family that he saw a black pickup truck nearby.

At 5:30 p.m., the boy’s sister was walking in the same area when she heard someone firing a gun. She told her family that a black pickup truck drove by and turned around. A person inside pointed a BB gun at her through a passenger window and fired, but missed her.

Loudoun County police issued a lookout for the truck and has increased patrols in that area.

If you have any information regarding this case or if you see any suspicious persons or vehicles, you are asked to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office by calling their 24-hour non-emergency number at 703-777-1021.
