HARRISONBURG, Va. - Bicyclists have a smooth ride at Eastern Mennonite University.
The League of American Bicyclists has added Eastern Mennonite to its list of "Bicycle Friendly Universities."
The Daily News-Record ( http://bit.ly/ULKqEe) reports that Eastern Mennonite received the league's bronze award, the third-highest designation.
Eastern Mennonite says bike racks and storage areas are available across campus. The university also has converted on-street parking into a bike lane. Recyclables are collected with a bike-pulled trailer.
A bike co-op also is available for repairs.
Eastern Mennonite is among nine schools added to the league's list. Virginia Commonwealth University and George Mason University were named to the list previously.
