HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. (AP) - Five students at Hampden-Sydney College are facing campus judicial proceedings for a racially charged incident on campus within minutes of President Barack Obama's re-election.

A spokesman at the tiny all-male school said Monday the five have been identified among approximately 40 who shouted racial slurs and tossed bottles and fireworks outside the Minority Student Union on the night of Nov. 6.

A spokesman for the college said the five will come before the student court for possible violations of the college's code of conduct. The proceedings are scheduled after the Thanksgiving holiday.

The college said previously students who were found guilty of violating the college code could face punishments ranging from probation to expulsion.

The students were not identified.
