DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - The Danville Area Humane Society is offering a $3,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the "horrific" torture and death of dog.
The male Jack Russell Terrier died after its owner brought the injured pet to the shelter. The Humane Society said the dog had knife wounds and dog bites.
Humane Society workers told the Register and Bee ( http://bit.ly/RZgLW0) the dog's injuries were among the worst they had ever seen.
The owner of the dog said it was missing briefly on Tuesday when the deadly abuse occurred.
