CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Several Virginia lawmakers are hosting a town hall meeting to talk about university board governance and potential legislation for the 2013 General Assembly session.
The Thursday event is being hosted by Sen. Creigh Deeds and Del. David Toscano, who are expected to be joined by Del. Steve Landes.
The town hall is scheduled to take place at Caplin Auditorium at the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Lawmakers say the town hall is aimed at getting feedback from the community on the summer leadership crisis that made national news.
In June, Teresa Sullivan was forced to resign as the university's president, but was reinstated by the Board of Visitors about two weeks later after a campus and community backlash.
