BEDFORD, Va. (AP) - A segment of Virginia 24 in Bedford County is being considered for designation as a Virginia byway.
The Bedford County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider a resolution supporting the byway designation at its meeting Monday night. The 10-mile segment runs from the intersection of Virginia 43 in eastern Bedford County to the Campbell County line.
The News and Advance says the board approved a study of the proposed byway designation in August 2011. The county recently received notification from the Virginia Department of Transportation that the segment is eligible for the designation.
