NC woman accused of threatening Va pier

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - A North Carolina woman faces charges of threatening to blow up a Newport News pier.
Police spokesman Harold Eley says 47-year-old Julie Ireland of Newburn, N.C., was arrested after she was found asleep Wednesday in a Newport News park.
Eley tells media outlets that Ireland had been cited for trespassing and littering on a private section of pier property earlier Wednesday when she became irate and threatened to obtain C4 explosives and blow up the pier.
