VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Vice President Joe Biden told graduates at a Virginia Beach high school not to believe it when they hear that the United States' future is not as bright as its past.
Biden made the comments to about 460 Tallwood High School graduates and about 4,600 others in attendance at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
It was Biden's second speech to area high school students in the past three months.
Virginia is considered important to President Barack Obama's re-election strategy and administration officials are regularly making appearances in the state leading up to the election.
Biden told the graduates to ignore cynical comments they may hear. He said there's no reason not to believe in the continued promise of America, saying that they will lead a period of technological innovation.
