MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Albemarle County residents whose homes and businesses were damaged by an August earthquake can receive updated information on government assistance at an upcoming town hall meeting.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Albemarle County Office Building in Charlottesville.
State and federal emergency management officials along with members of the Small Business Administration will be in attendance. Officials will answer questions about the registration process and how to rebuild safer structures after an earthquake. SBA specialists will discuss low-interest disaster loans.
The magnitude-5.8 earthquake hit the region Aug. 23 and numerous aftershocks have occurred since then.
