ROANOKE, Va. - A Virginia inmate who sent blood-smeared, threatening letters to courthouses will spend another 10 years and five months behind bars.

Prosecutors say the letters sent by 24-year-old Richard Crowder to courthouses in Roanoke and Roanoke County threatened President Barack Obama, judges and a federal agent. The letters also claimed Crowder had hepatitis C and AIDs.

Crowder was an inmate at Red Onion State Prison when he sent the letters in 2010.

He was convicted last November. The Roanoke Times ( http://bit.ly/NJmqMV) reports that he was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Abingdon.
