LONDON (AP) - BMX rider Squel Stein of Brazil crashed during Friday's semifinals of the BMX competition and was taken from the course on a stretcher.
Stein fell off her bike when she landed on the grass after a big jump in the first half of the course at the London Velopark.
Brazilian Olympic committee spokesman Christian Dawes told The Associated Press that Stein will undergo medical exams at a clinic in the athletes village.
"She just arrived in the village. She can move her arms and legs and can speak," he said. "She will undergo scans and we'll then be able to assess her condition."
The 21-year-old Stein secured her best result in a major competition earlier this year when she reached the world championships final.
