Paisano's wins WTOP's top pizza

ARLINGTON, Va.- One year ago this week, Paisano's in Crystal City was prepping pies for its grand opening.
The first year appears to have gone well, as voters chose this spot for "Best Pizza" in the D.C. area in WTOP's Top 10.
"I was stationed, when I was in the military, in Italy so I go in with a critical eye," an Air Force veteran said while grabbing some take out.
"I like the good food and the customer service."
Business is almost exclusively delivery and take out at this location. Just a few chairs squeeze around small tables.
In addition to pizza, loyal customers rave about the subs and strombolis. The unifying compliment though, is about the fresh taste.
"We make everything fresh - dough, fresh [cut] vegetables, marinated chicken - we make our sauce here," says Paisano's General Manager Baderddine Namouchi.
To encourage voting in the Top 10, Paisano's offered customers large pizzas for $4.99.
