WASHINGTON - Looking to spice up your Labor Day weekend with some live music? Look no further.

Here are the highlights:

Friday

  • The Michael Jackson Dance Party takes place every year at the 9:30 Club to pay tribute to the King of Pop. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
  • The Howard Theatre hosts "Masters of Funk" featuring the Bar- Kays, A Taste of Honey, and Brick.

Saturday

  • Soul/funk fans won't want to miss Maze featuring Frankie Beverly at the Verizon Center.
  • '80s rap icons Salt-N-Pepa at the Howard Theatre. Limited seating is available.
  • Jiffy Lube Live. Mayer's latest release, "Paradise Valley," is a solid album of new songs that are sure to please die-hard fans and newcomers alike.

Sunday

  • The Labor Day Capitol Concert takes place at 8 p.m. on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building. The concert will feature the National Symphony Orchestra and the so- called "classically-trained garage band" Time for Three. The Americana-themed program will showcase an eclectic mix -- from American traditional songs to Mumford and Sons.
