WASHINGTON - This weekend is packed with big name concerts, but smaller venues are hosting some excellent acts as well.

Read on for the rundown of this weekend's best concerts.

Friday

Saturday

  • 80s synth-pop pioneers OMD are scheduled to perform at the 9:30 Club in support of their new album, "English Electric." Jam band fans won't want to miss Phish at Merriweather Post Pavailion. This is the first of two performances.
  • Local rockabilly sound like a swingin' time? Check out Jumpin' Jupiter at IOTA Club and Cafe.

Sunday

  • Night two of Phish performing at Merriweather Post Pavailion.
  • Australian pop singer Cody Simpson performs at DAR Constitution Hall.
  • Video Games Live is scheduled for Sunday night at Wolf Trap. Featuring music from games such as Super Smash Bros., Street Fighter 2, and Donkey Kong Country, the concert has become a must-see event for gamers and music aficionados alike.
