Man lying in road killed in SE D.C.

WASHINGTON — Police in D.C. are asking for the public’s help after a man was
killed in a traffic incident on Thursday.

On Nov, 27, Walter Steven Leach, 63, of Capitol Heights, Maryland was lying in
the street in Southeast D.C when he was struck by a car. He was taken to a
hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that hit Leach remained on the scene. Police are trying to find out
if Leach fell in the street or was hit by another car that didn’t remain on the
scene. The incident happened in the 1800 block of Alabama Avenue, SE.
