Gun found in man’s underwear at D.C. Superior Court

WASHINGTON — A loaded handgun was discovered in the underwear of a man at the D.C. Superior Court Tuesday morning.

David Neumann, Deputy U.S. Marshal, tells WTOP that the man, Isiah Bogan, 19, of Southeast D.C., was brought to the courthouse by D.C. police officers to appear for unauthorized use of a vehicle charges. Then gun was found when he was searched at the courthouse.

Neumann says Bogan had just been arrested and hadn’t been jailed.

His hearing was postponed and will likely be tomorrow. Police took the man back and he potentially faces more charges.

Spokeswoman for Metropolitan Police Department Gwendolyn Crump says that three different agencies had custody of Bogan and it’s not known when or where he got the weapon. Bogan was searched by each agency.
