Hopeful Nats fans try to catch playoff tickets

WASHINGTON — Many offices in the D.C. area were filled with frantic typing around 10 a.m. Monday. That’s because Washington National’s fans were trying to snap up playoff tickets.

Those who nabbed some tickets should consider themselves lucky. For most people, by 10:10 a.m. all of the tickets under $250.00 were sold out. After a few more minutes, would-be ticket buyers were getting the following message from the website:

“There are currently no tickets available for NLDS home games. Fans may check inventory for these games using the links below as seats may be released for sale if they become available.”

So what can fans who can’t imagine going through a playoff season without seeing at least one game do?

First, keep checking the ticket center on the National’s website. They are periodically releasing tickets for sale. For the best chance at one of those, search for one ticket at a time.

The next option is StubHub. Not surprisingly, as the tickets sold out on the National’s website, they started popping up on StubHub — for a premium.

The final option is for the optimist: Hope to get one of the limited standing room only tickets on game day.
