Person struck by Metro train at Mt. Vernon Square

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says a person was struck by a train at the Mount Vernon Square station in downtown Washington.

A Metro official says it appears the person was intentionally in the way of the train. The person was not immediately identified.

Trains on the green and yellow lines bypassed the Mount Vernon Square station for a time. But trains resumed service at the station after the scene was cleared. Metro says there are delays in the area due to trains single-tracking through the area.
