When it comes to sleep, how does DC stack up against other cities?

WASHINGTON — Every night in the nation’s capital and surrounding neighborhoods, people prepare to sleep after a long day. However, a full night’s rest isn’t really in store for them.

According to popular fitness tracker Jawbone, it seems the D.C. area is only getting about 6.85 hours of slumber. The Washington Post reports folks in Sin City get even less, with an average of 6.53 hours of rest. Sleepless in Seattle? Not really. They get .05 more hours of sleep than the Washington area.

If you are looking for the place that gets the best rest, then head down under to Australia. In Melbourne, seven hours is best. Here’s how many Zzzzs other cities are catching:

  • Seatlle, Washington: 6.88 hours
  • San Antonio, Texas: 6.87 hours
  • Charlotte, N.C.: 6.85 hours
