WASHINGTON — Ordering a pizza is supposed to be easy.
A smartphone app Push For Pizza that’s supposed to streamline the ordering and delivery of a pizza to a single click has gotten a lot of national attention, but not the kind its developers intended.
When Washingtonians attempted to enter their delivery address in the app, they received the message: “DC is not a valid state.”
Naturally, D.C. residents took to Twitter to express their frustration over not having a way to have a pie delivered, not to mention voting representation in Congress.
Anxious to deliver pizzas, Push For Pizza, founded by five 19-year-olds, searched for a workaround — and made matters worse.

The company is working on an app update, which will recognize Washington, D.C., as a state.
