Early voting centers for D.C. mayor's race open

Saturday - 3/22/2014, 4:48am  ET

WASHINGTON-- After a full week of early voting at One Judiciary Square, voters in the District of Columbia will have more opportunities to cast their ballots for the Primary Election beginning Saturday, March 22, when 12 additional Early Voting Centers open around the city.

District of Columbia Board of Elections (DCBOE) Early Voting Centers will be open daily between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., except Sunday, March 23. The last day for early voting is Saturday, March 29.

"DC voters asked, and DCBOE listened," said Clifford Tatum, Executive Director. "Our goal is to make early voting as convenient and accessible as possible."

DC residents can vote at any Early Voting Center in the District, regardless of their home address. Making things even easier is DCBOE's new early voting app, "The Queue," which provides updates on wait times every 20 minutes. The Queue is available on any phone or tablet here, and includes directions to and pictures of every site.

New voters may participate in same-day registration at any early voting location. Voters may also update their addresses at these sites. However, currently registered voters will not be able to change their party affiliations. The deadline to change party status was March 4.
