D.C. firefighter charged with filling fake prescriptions

WASHINGTON – A D.C. firefighter was arrested for filling fake prescriptions at a Maryland grocery while wearing his uniform Friday.

He was the second D.C. firefighter arrested in uniform this week. The arrests come on the heels of a scathing report reviewing the department’s response to Cecil Mills who was struggling across from a fire station but received no help.

On Friday, Lt. Henry Dent, 35, was arrested and charged will filling fraudulent drug prescriptions in a scheme that police say spans three Maryland counties and the District.

Dent was taken into custody coming out of a grocery store in Charlotte Hall, Md., after he filled a fake prescription for oyxcodone, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators recovered 47 oxycodone pills, 18 other fake prescriptions to be completed, and six empty prescription bottles Dent obtained from pharmacies in Calvert County, Prince George’s County, and Washington D.C.

Evidence was also recovered from a thumb drive, a tablet and a laptop, police say.

Officials say they became aware of Dent’s activities Tuesday, when he filled a fake prescription at a pharmacy in Hollywood, Md.

Dent has been released by the St. Mary’s County District Court Commissioner pending other charges he faces.

Wednesday, firefighter Antwan Jordon was arrested outside of firehouse Engine 15 and charged with misdemeanor sex abuse.

Surveillance video shows Jordan, in uniform, slapping a woman’s buttocks at a Southeast D.C. elementary school, according to Fox 5.

A fire department spokesman says both Dent and Jordan have been placed on administrative leave.
